- This fruit has become very popular in recent years, getting incorporated in salads, relishes, and other unlikely dishes all over the globe.
- When ripe, it mashes quite easily with a fork, to form a soft creamy pulp.
- Since the cut fruit discolours fast, it should be tossed with lemon juice soon as it is cut if left for any length of time.
- Though avocado adds flavour, colour, nutrition and good health to any dish in which it is incorporated, it has little taste or flavour of its own.
- There are many varieties from the large giant ones to the small baby fist sizes.
- Avocado has a very high oil content, standing next only to olives. However avocado oil is very low in blood cholesterol.
