  1. This fruit has become very popular in recent years, getting incorporated in salads, relishes, and other unlikely dishes all over the globe.

  2. When ripe, it mashes quite easily with a fork, to form a soft creamy pulp.

  3. Since the cut fruit discolours fast, it should be tossed with lemon juice soon as it is cut if left for any length of time.

  4. Though avocado adds flavour, colour, nutrition and good health to any dish in which it is incorporated, it has little taste or flavour of its own.

  5. There are many varieties from the large giant ones to the small baby fist sizes.

  6. Avocado has a very high oil content, standing next only to olives. However avocado oil is very low in blood cholesterol.
