Baishaki Dishes
Amritsari Ladoo
Ingredients

4 cups wholewheat flour
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups ghee
1 tsp. cardamom powder
2 tbsp. slivered almonds
1 tbsp. chopped cashews
1 tbsp. raisins (optional)
1 tsp. chironji, very lightly broken

Method

  1. Melt ghee in a large pan.
  2. Add wheat flour, stir continuously, till light brown.
  3. Roast flour on very slow flame.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare sugar syrup of 2 1/2 thread.
  5. This is the soft ball stage of syrup.
  6. Take off fire, add all other ingredients.
  7. Mix well and shape into laddoos, of desired size.
  8. Cool completely before storing in airtight container.

Making Time : 30 minutes
Makes : 25 laddoos approx.
Shelf Life : 2 weeks or more
