Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups bengal gram dal soaked in water for 3 hours
1 bunch dill leaves finely chopped
1 small bunch coriander leaves finely chopped
5-6 green chillies, crushed
salt as per taste,
2 tbsp finely chopped onions, (other veggies like carrots as desired).Method:
- Drain dal
- Save 1/4 cup aside, grind rest to a batter with minimal or no water.
- Add all other ingredients including the kept whole dal
- The batter for vadas are ready
Method for Vadas:
- Add 2-3 tbsp. hot oil to the mixture.
- Heat oil, make patties shaped rounds with moist palm.
- Let carefully into the hot oil.
- Fry first one side then the other till golden brown.
- Serve hot with green chutney, tamarind chutney, or ketchup
Shelflife for the batter: 1 day refrigerated
