Edible Decorations
Many edible decorations are available in the stores today. Though you may buy coloured sugars, iced leaves, mistletoe, etc., they can be made at home too.

  1. To make coloured sugars, put 1/2 cup granulated sugar in small glass jar, with a tight lid.
  2. Add a few drops of green, yellow, red or desired colour to it.
  3. Add 2-3 drops vanilla essence.
  4. Close lid tight and shake the jar vigourously till the sugar is uniformly coated with the colour.

  1. To make iced leaves, etc. , prepare 1 cup basic butter icing and add the desired colour while beating.
  2. Pipe out mistle toe shaped leaves, berries, bells etc. on a clean waxpaper and allow to dry and stiffen.
  3. Highlight the shades by applying a few thin strokes of edible colour-dipped brush .
  4. Lift and store carefully. Use them as decorations on cakes, puddings, etc when required.
