Summer Coolers

Ingredients

  1 cup prepared ghaat (maize porridge) refer recipe
1 cup fresh nonsour curds
1 onion finely  chopped
1 tsp. coriander leaves finely chopped
1/4 tsp. cumin seed powder
1/4 tsp. red chilli powder
1 tbsp. cornflakes cereal

METHOD:

  1. Chill ghaat well before proceeding further.
  2. Put ghaat in a large bowl.
  3. Beat curds, add to ghaat.
  4. Add all other ingredients.
  5. Mix with spoon to blend ingredients well.
  6. Chill again, garnish with more coriander if desired.
  7. Sprinkle coarsely crumbled cornflakes on top.
  8. Serve chilled as a chilled summer lunch, light and wholesome.

Making time: 15 minutes (excluding ghaat making time)
Makes:           2 servings
Shelflife:        4-5 hours refrigerated
