Vegetable - Tomatoes Dishes

Tips
  • Such a common vegetable. But such a versatile one, is the tomato. From whole, to chopped, to puree, to dried form, it easily gives itself to the dish, adding flair and flavour alike. Did you know that tomato is a fruit too? This is one vegetable which blend well with salads having fruit, vegetables, beans, sprouts, pastas, anything.
  • There is probably no country in the world, which does not accept the tomato as part of its cuisine. It adds taste and body to gravies, soups, curries, pulaos, even parathas, alike.
  • Many sauces of western and eastern, continental, or other cuisine, are based on tomatoes.
  • This cheap vegetable comes in giant, medium and baby varieties. Even the raw vegetable can be made into a tasty veggie.
  • My cookbook already covers many tasteful recipes with tomatoes as the primary vegetable for eg. Stuffed tomatoes, tomato rices, tomato soups, hasslefree tomato sabzi, salads, basic pizza topping, etc.
  • This week I present some very unusual, but very tasty, simple dishes made from this wonder of nature.
