Ingredients2 tbsp poppy seeds
1 tbsp rice
2 cups milk
2 cups water
2 cups mashed jaggery
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
2 tbsp crushed almonds
1 tbsp crushed pistachiosMethod:
- Soak poppy seeds and rice for 3-4 hours
- Grind them in to fine paste
- Bring water to boil
- Add mashed jaggery and let it melts, stirring continuously
- Add the paste and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring continuously
- Add milk and cardamom powder
- Let it boil for 3-4 minutes
- Garnish with nuts
- Serve hot
Making time: 25 minutes, excluding soaking time
Makes: 5 servings
