Sample Menu - 4
This menu deals with breakfast which is the most important part of any perosn's diet.
(Breakfast combinations which can be rearranged easily as per time and
necessity).
Combination 1: (For those who are ailing or have to cut down on sugar and calories)
- 1 bowl wholesome porridge OR 2 toasts of wheat or bran bread
- milk without sugar and cornflakes
- 1 fruit of choice and health allowing
Combination 2: (for normal average eaters with no restrictions)
- 1 bowl porridge
- 1 glass milk
List of main dishes ideal for a breakfast in addition to the above.
Any of the below item may be accompanied by indian masala tea or filter coffee, or even masala milk for breakfast.
- 1 cup poha
- 1 cup saboodana (sago) khichidi
- 1 plateful dhoklas
- 2 moong dal chilas
- 1 cup pongal
- 1 dabeli
- 3 appams with chutney
- 1 cup upma
- 1 cup sprouted lentils
- 3 rice idlis with chutney and/or sambar
- 2 rava idlis with chutney and saagu
The above combinations are a very limited choice (limited is a relative term
here.) So dive into the reservoir of recipes, let the index heads guide you,
and go ahead and try your own combinations with no hesitation at all!!!
