  • Dietary planning is important for heart diseases to avoid complication and obesity. These diets will help for your healthy heart. Remember to use unsaturated fatty acids like sunflower, olive, or corn oil for the preparation of the food items. 15 ml of oil per day is used in these diets.

    Sample Menu for 1800 kcal Diet.

    Diet plan A (Vegetarian) Diet plan B (Non vegetarian)
    Early Morning Tea / Coffee - 1 cup Tea / Coffee - 1 cup
    Break fast Skim Milk - 1 cup
    Wheat flakes - 3/4 cup
    Orange - 1
    Skim Milk - 1 cup
    Whole Wheat toast - 2
    Poached egg white - 1
    Papaya - 1/4 piece
    Mid morning Sweet lime juice - 1 glass 0r butter milk - 1 glass Orange juice - 1 glass or butter milk - 1 glass
    Lunch Rice -1 cup
    Chapathi - 2 nos
    Dhal - 3/4 cup
    Palak sabji - 1 cup
    Skim milk Paneer- 4 pieces
    Salad - A good helping
    Chapathi - 3 nos
    Grilled chicken - 1 piece
    Ladies finger sabji - 1 cup
    Curd - 1/2 cup
    Salad - A good helping
    Mid evening Tea / Coffee - 1 cup
    Cream cracker - 2
    Tea / Coffee - 1 cup
    Marie biscuit - 2
    Dinner Vegetable soup - 1 bowl
    Bajra roti - 1
    Rajmah - 1/2 cup
    Lauki sabji - 1 cup
    Salad - A helping
    Tomato soup - 1 bowl
    Veg khichadi - 1 cup
    Skim milk curd - 1/2 cup
    Salad - A good helping
    Bed time Skim milk - 1 cup Skim milk - 3/4 cup

    Food items permitted Food items to be avoided
    Wheat, rice, bajra, ragi, jowar and maize Cakes, pastries, naan, roomali roti and fast foods.
    Whole and sprouted legumes, dhals Pickles, papads, sauces, salt biscuits, baking powder and fried crisps
    All vegetables and fruits Fried vegetables, potato and banana chips, canned vegetables
    Low fat milk and its curds Cheese, butter, khoa, cream ,condensed milk, Sweets, chocolates and icecreams
    Egg white Egg yolk
    Vegetable oils like corn oil, safflower oil, mustard oil etc Oily dishes, fried foods, ghee, coconut oil and hydrogenated oils
    Fresh fruit juices (with out sugar), light tea Alcohol in excess
    Fish except shell fish all organ meat, red meat, crabs, oyster and prawns

    Melon - 4-5 pieces

    Dinner Mushroom soup - 1 bowl
    Roti - 1
    French beans sabji - 1 cup

    Chicken clear soup -1 bowl
